making things grow

Despite my crafty skills, I have a black thumb. My plants tend not to fare well regardless of the amount of attention I shower on them. Much to my surprise I noticed a lovely pink lily blooming among my collection of dead potted plants!

I stuck these bulbs in a pot over a year ago. The upstairs neighbors must have kept them watered. (Water pours down onto our balcony if people water their plants on the balcony above us.) For now I am enjoying its beauty. Although I'm almost inspired to pretend to garden again! I really want a lavender plant. I think I can handle that.
