This American Life, Part II
Wow, I got a letter in the mail from This American Life! They responded pretty quickly to my pitch for a show about knitting. I imagined that my envelope would sit in a mountain of story ideas and adoring letters to the show. It's probably a rejection letter, so I haven't read it yet. But my dream of being interviewed by Ira lives on!
Update, June 14th: I finally read the letter and felt extremely disappointed afterwards. They sent me a generic form letter stating that they receive a lot of submissions, and mine was not right for the show. They didn't even make an attempt to personalize it! I only hope that my submission did not read like a poorly written, self-centered college application essay.
