What's old is new again

I recently came across some old advertisements and articles about knitting from 1920-30s era newspapers. A fabulous find indeed! I tend to think that I'm participating in a contemporary knitting renaissance, when in fact I should pay tribute to a craft whose lineage extends back at least 1,000 years. (Knitting, like architecture, developed from the need to shelter the human body and wrap it in warmth.) In addition to some lovely historic patterns, I offer these goodies. Both ran in the Fitchburg Sentinel in 1930.
